Michael Beckworth, Former Youth Pastor, Kills Boyfriend of Estranged Wife before Shooting Himself
Michael Beckworth, a former youth pastor at the Westover Fellowship Church in Amarillo, Texas, has been identified as the man who shot and killed his estranged wife’s boyfriend before killing himself with a single shot to the head on Sunday.
According to witnesses, Beckworth entered the home of Joe Lee and opened fire on the 31-year-old. Beckworth then turned the gun on himself.
Beckworth had made threats in the past indicating he would attack Lee shortly after he discovered the man had been dating his wife.
