350 calls come in for Madeleine McCann

Nearly 350 calls were made for Madeleine McCann after the child’s parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, made a public appeal for her. Madeleine McCann went missing May 3 while the McCann’s were vacationing in Praia da Luz, Portugal.

Kate and Gerry McCann made the TV appeal from their home in Rothley, Leicestershire. The couple showed footage of their 4-year-old opening presents last Christmas morning and asked for help so they won’t have to spend another Christmas without their daughter.

The Spanish detective agency Metodo 3 will investigate all 347 new leads with a “fine tooth comb.”

“We are pleased with the calls and they are continuing to come in,” said McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell. “Every single call is much appreciated and we are going through them with a fine tooth comb. Any that need to be acted upon swiftly, are being acted upon swiftly.”

Although Kate and Gerry are official suspects in their daughter’s disappearance, they insist she was abducted and is still alive. Kate appealed for any information about Madeleine saying, “You must understand that you hold the key to ending all this despair and anguish, for both us and Madeleine.”

“Please do the right thing and come forward,” she added.

The couple also sent Madeleine a message saying, “Just know how much we love you, Madeleine. We all miss you so much.”
