NHL Playoffs Schedule Sunday April 18: Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche Back on Home Ice, Chicago Blackhawks Look to Even Series

While the Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche all wanted to at last split their opening two games on the road they each had a shot at taking a commanding 2-0 lead in their series against the New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks but came up short in the second game. Now, returning to their home ice, they’ll have a chance to reclaim the series advantage with their hoe fans looking on.

The Detroit Red Wings will also be returning home after splitting a pair against the Phoenix Coyotes on the road. Detroit dropped the opener but managed to bounce back in game two to even the series.

Philadelphia has played New Jersey hard all year and winning the opener on their ice would do a lot to deflate the Devils.

Sidney Crosby is facing a lot of pressure to get his Penguins back to the Stanley Cup finals and capture another title but the Senators have been tough and the Ottawa fans will certainly be out on Sunday trying to make things difficult for Pittsburgh.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been picked by many to reach the Stanley Cup finals but they were pounded in their opener against the Nashville Predators. Their second game will have a different result if the Blackhawks hope to advance.

San Jose knows the woes of being a high seed come NHL playoff time and after dropping their opener against the Colorado Avalanche they bounced back in game two to even the series and stay afloat. They’ll have a tough time on the road but they clearly have the talent to take the seven-game series.
