Mitt Romney Promises To Keep Campaign Promises

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney understand how changing a candidate's mind can hurt them in an election and recently vowed that with his newly stated positions on a variety of issues, the voters should feel confident that he will keep any promises he makes while campaigning for president.

Attempting to deflect charges of flip-flopping, Romney said it is not appropriate for any elected official to stick by a decision when it has proven to be the wrong one. He acknowledged that some of his opinions changed while governor, but only after more facts were presented that showed his previous position was not the right one. He added that although his personal opinions may have shifted he stuck to the promises he made as governor and voter can count on his doing the same thing if elected president.

In the Republican primary race, according to polls released by www.usaelectionpolls.com Romney is tied with Rudy Giuliani with 17 percent of the projected Republican primary voters supporting him. Mike Huckabee, who has a commanding lead in Iowa is third with 17 percent.

Iowa Poll: Romney has a 25 percent showing ahead of Giuliani's 13 percent, trailing Huckabee by five percent.

For a one-on-one poll comparison, Romney shows signs of being able to defeat some of the expected Democrat candidates in results posted at PresidentElectionPolls.com. While some of the polls represent a variety of candidates, Romney's rise in opposition to many of the possible Democrats seems to be a surprise to everyone except Mitt Romney.
