Ron Paul is enjoying his recent ride on the money machine, picking up an additional $6 million to keep his campaign feet on the election trail. The Texas Republican has been trailing in the polls since the inception of his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, mainly supported by online supporters.
His recent surge into the money came on what many call a money bomb that exploded his campaign war chest with the $6 million in about 24 hours. He has raised nearly $18 million dollars in the last quarter of the year. According to the polls published at usaelectionpolls.com, Paul is still close to last place, although his rating have risen to six and five percent respectively in polls conducted in Iowa and New Hampshire, two of the earliest primary election states.
He has a firm grip on sixth place, ahead of Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter. However, 13 percent of the projected Republican voters in Iowa and nine percent in New Hampshire are still indicating they have not made up their minds. With his new-found funding, Ron Paul can increase his presence in both of these early states and perhaps spend some time in Florida where he holds seven percent of probable Republican voters.
The majority of Paul's support has come through internet bloggers and this instantaneous communication method has been sending messages about Paul's stance on a variety of issues such as wanting to end the income tax and putting more power back into the hands of the individual states.
