NHL Playoffs Schedule Monday April 19: Alex Ovechkin Looks to Give Washington Capitals Edge as Series with Canadiens Shifts to Montreal

The NHL playoffs has been the picture of parity this year as no team has jumped to a commanding lead and actually it has been the higher seeded teams that have had to fight back to even their series or take a game lead.

Buffalo managed to jump to a 1-0 lead in their series with Boston but the Bruins pounded on the Sabres in game two to even the best-of-seven series at a game apiece. The series now shifts to Boston but the Bruins actually had a better road record than at home, something the Sabres will look to exploit on Monday.

Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals were within a blink of an eye of falling down 2-0 to the Montreal Canadiens but a miraculous overtime victory evened the series at 1-1. Now the Capitals, the best road team in the NHL this year, will head to Montreal and look to take command of the series.

The Vancouver Canucks opened their best-of-seven playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings with a 3-2 overtime win. In game two it was the Kings turn to win a 3-2 overtime thriller and now the series shifts to Southern California and the Canucks are the only Western Conference playoff team that posted a losing record on the road.
