Colorado Rockies President Keli McGregor Found Dead

Keli McGregor, president of the Colorado Rockies, was found dead Tuesday morning in a Salt Lake City, Utah hotel room.

McGregor was on a business trip to Salt Lake City with team CEO Charlie Monfort and Executive Vice President Greg Feasel. He was found dead in his Grand America Hotel room shortly before 9 a.m. The cause of death is unknown.

“Words cannot describe the level of shock and disbelief that we all are feeling this morning at the loss of Keli," CEO Charlie Monfort said in a statement. "Our thoughts, our prayers are with [his wife] Lori and the entire family as we all try to cope and understand how such a tragic loss could occur with such a wonderful man."

McGregor, 48, was drafted into the NFL in 1985. He played for the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts and Seattle Seahawks before joining the Rockies as the senior director of operations in 1993.  McGregor became the Rockies president in October 2001.

He is survived by his wife and four children.
