Jacksonville Jaguars Vs Houston Texans - Free Pick Analysis

Expert handicapper Kris Lazaro of NFLSystems.com has made a prediction on this game.

The Houston Texans host the playoff bound Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday in a game that will pretty much be useless for both teams.  Jacksonville will look to rest their starters for their upcoming playoff game, while Houston will simply be playing for pride.  Both teams are playing this game for pride and the author believes that the under will be a good bet since second and third stringers will have significant playing time.  Oddsmakers have made the total opening at 42.5, with betting action pushing it to its current position of 41.  Houston was also made a 4 point home favorite, with betting action pushing it to its current line of 7 points in most sportsbooks.

Jacksonville comes into this game on fire, winning 7 of its last 10 games, and covering 8 in that set.  Most recently, they are coming off a blowout against the pathetic Oakland Raiders, beating them by the score of 49-11 as 14 point home favorites.  On the season, they are 11-4 straight up and against the spread, while on the road they are 5-2 straight up and 6-1 against the number.  Starting quarterback David Garrard will probably take a few snaps in the beginning of the game, then giving the reigns to his backup.  The author sees this as a major problem.  Jacksonville will play tough, but will let up and let the Texans win and cover this game.
