Consumer fraud attorneys working with ClassAction.org are currently investigating concerns voiced by Page Plus Cellular customers regarding the Page Plus Unlimited Talk and Text plan. Some Page Plus customers have reported that their unlimited service plans were terminated by Page Plus without warning. In addition, it has been alleged that Page Plus customer service representatives refused to provide a reason for the termination or provide a prorated refund to customers whose plans were terminated.
Page Plus is a prepaid cell phone provider, based in Ohio, which offers an unlimited talk and text plan for $39.95 per month. Despite the fact that this plan is advertised as “unlimited,” some customers have reported that their plans were unfairly terminated by Page Plus. These customers were alerted via text message that their plans were being terminated for alleged “abuse” of the service, such as using it for commercial purposes. However, the customers maintain that they were not abusing the service and were simply talking and texting on their phones in a normal manner.
Consumers have also reported that calls to Page Plus customer service representatives did not clarify the situation, as the representatives refused to provide a clear explanation for the termination or escalate the matter to a supervisor. Instead, they encouraged customers whose plans had been terminated to sign up for a more expensive service plan. If the customers declined, they were not given a prorated refund of their monthly service charge.
