This week's episode of Creative Planet’s Digital Production BuZZ, the world's only interactive talk radio for digital production, post-production and distribution, featured Bruce Nazarian, CEO of Digital Media Consulting Group and President of the DVD Association; Nick Young, lead vocals and guitarist with Ai; and Tee Morris, author of “The Survival Guide to Writing Fantasy,” and co-author of the newly-released, “Expert Podcasting Practices for Dummies.”
Nazarian immediately tackled the HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray debate, saying, “There are some interesting developments that are going to help massage the difference between the two formats. The best advice I could give for the moment is it’s going to be very difficult for any enterprise without unlimited resources to pursue both pathways. So what you need to do is get smart about what format does what and quantify the mission you’re trying to accomplish.”
Young explained their band’s approach to the world of digital music and their second album, “Sex and Robots.” The animated music video for “Hey Now” was created in Final Cut Pro in their living room and has reached #6 on Yahoo! Music Videos (Indie Rock) and can be seen on YouTube as well. “This is a really big thing for us because we’re unsigned,” said Young about the grassroots success of the video.
Morris joined The BuZZ for an animated discussion providing an entertaining and creative look at the technical side of podcasting. On promoting podcasts, Morris said, “That’s the hardest part about podcasting. Right now I rely on podcasts such as this (referring to The BuZZ). I rely on the kindness of strangers and I sometimes pull people in to do guest voices. I find that’s one of the best ways you can reach an audience is by doing a lot of cross-promoting.”
