MLB Schedule Wednesday April 21: Boston Red Sox Look for Two Straight Against Texas Rangers, Roy Halladay Gunning to End Philadelphia Phillies Slide
The Boston Red Sox ended their five game slide on Tuesday evening, beating the Texas Rangers after scoring a pair of runs in the eighth inning to tie the game and then getting the game-winner in the bottom of the ninth. Boston will be looking for two straight on Wednesday as they send Josh Beckett to the hill.
Despite the win the Red Sox still trail the New York Yankees by 5 ½ games in the AL East and the Bronx Bombers will be looking for their sixth straight win on Wednesday as they face the Oakland A’s.
The A’s are sitting one game ahead of the Los Angeles Angels who have a five game winning streak and can extend that on Wednesday as they host the Detroit Tigers.
The matchup of the night could be down in Atlanta as the Braves are coming off a dramatic 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The loss was the third straight for the Phillies and dropped them into a tie with Atlanta atop the NL East. On Wednesday Roy Halladay will be sent to the mound to end the losing streak band he’ll be facing off against Tim Hudson.
After starting the season slow the San Diego Padres have rattled off five straight wins and Tuesday night’s win over the San Francisco Giants might have been the most impressive as they collected just one hit but won 1-0. The Padres pulled even with the Giants atop the NL West with the win.
