Michael Lamar Holland delayed a United Airlines Flight after allegedly fondling a female passenger. The Seattle man sat beside the 39-year-old woman on United Flight 917 and witnesses say he was stroking her hair while she slept.
Holland, 46, then began fondling the woman, who immediately objected. A flight attendant called the air marshals, who arrested Holland and took him to an empty seat on the plane. The pilot chose to divert the Sunday flight to Pittsburgh so the man could be removed from the plane.
“I think I’m still in a bit of shock,” said the woman. Holland was held in a Pittsburgh jail overnight and was released on bond. He is set to appear in court on January 7 to face charges of abusive sexual contact.
If convicted, Holland could face up to a year in prison and a $1,000 fine.
