Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee Display Impressive Leads Just Days before Iowa Caucuses

According to a poll released by the Des Moines Register, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee each hold an impressive lead over their counterparts with just two days before the Iowa caucuses.

Obama was said to have garnered support from 32 percent of those involved in the poll, a 7 percent advantage over his closest rival Hillary Clinton while John Edwards totaled 24 percent.

As for Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor continues to surge in the Republican field and now has the support of 32 percent of those surveyed a 6 percent advantage over Mitt Romney.

While both candidates hold impressive leads in their pursuit of their party’s nomination the results of Thursday’s caucuses could shift as a third of those polled in the survey said they could change their mind.
