The History of Classic Hard Rock Band Sinopoli
Sinopoli burst upon the New Jersey rock scene at a time when other locals such as Bon Jovi (maybe you've heard of them?) and Skid Row were securing their footing in rock history. The band was a regular staple at the legendary Olsen's, and was know to dazzle local shore crowds at The Chatterbox, Galaxy and Captain Hook's as well. "Got Me Going" was a legitimate local hit at a time when the smaller radio stations could actually pick the songs that they wanted to play, and Sinopoli was heard on the airwaves along side such other hard rock luminaries as Def Leppard, Poison, Guns N Roses, Skid Row and the aforementioned Bon Jovi. Never one to be pigeon-holed, these hard rockers displayed a wide variety of styles in their songwriting, and easily found favor with rock fans both young and old. Their independently released EPs "Rock To The Top" and "Sinopoli II" sold well at concerts and in area record stores. Although the climate of the music industry drastically changed a few years later, Sinopoli still played to crowds whenever and wherever they could. In the late 90's, reunion shows featuring the original line-up of Joey and Nicky Sinopoli, Bobby Abranowicz and Kevin Meyer were a big draw at 9 Bar South in Bayville, NJ.
