With the first Iowa caucus right around the corner, many Democrats are wondering how long Dennis Kucinich, Ohio Representative and presidential candidate will remain in a race he appears to have no chance of winning. His position in the polls have not changed significantly since he announced his candidacy and while his voice is heard by many who agree with his views, his two percent showing in recent Iowa polls, have some believing it is time he fold up his tent.
Recent polls by the American Research Group posted at USAElectionPolls.com show Kucinich with two percent of the expected Democrat caucus voters on his side. The top three Democrat candidates are holding 73 percent of the expected vote and little has changed to move his prospects forward. Voters in his Ohio district are pushing for him to leave the race to the ones with a real chance and get back to work for the ones who elected him to his office.
He is polling at four percent in New Hampshire, ahead of Joe Biden with three percent, but the top three still command 72 percent of expected voters in the January 8 primary. During his last run at the presidency in 1004, Kucinich hung around through the majority of the primaries before facing defeat, yet his tenacity cannot be questioned.
As the national news media focuses on the top tier candidates, leaving the rest of the pack to fend for itself on the campaign trail, Kucinich is often left out of debates and when he is included, his time in front of the camera is limited.
