Dan Cooper Case Reopened by FBI

Dan Cooper, also known as DB Cooper, is still at large, and after 37 years, the FBI is reopening his case.

On November 24, 1971 a man who went by the name of Dan Cooper boarded Northwest Airlines flight to Seattle.  Claiming that he had a bomb, Cooper demanded $200,000 and parachutes.  Cooper ordered to be taken to Mexico, but he jumped out of the plain over Washington.

The FBI has released evidence in the hopes of getting new information.  They released photos of evident, police sketches of what they believe Cooper to look like and a map of where he may have landed on Monday.

The FBI has made this statement, "Who was Cooper? Did he survive the jump? We're providing new information and pictures and asking for your help."

Authorities initially thought that Cooper did not survive the jump because of the dark and rain.

Many people have stepped forward claiming to be Cooper, however many did not match the physical descriptions, nor did they have the parachuting experience or the right DNA.  DNA evidence was found from a tie left on the plane by Cooper.
