San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and actress Jennifer Seibel became engaged in Hawaii over the past weekend.
It will be the second marriage for Newsom, 40, and the first for Siebel, 33. In December 2001, Newsom married lawyer and TV commentator Kimberly Guilfoyle in a lavish wedding, which was followed by a reception at the home of billionaire philanthropists Ann and Gordon Getty.
They divorced in March 2006. Guilfoyle has re-married to furniture tycoon Eric Villency and lives in New York City, where she hosts "The Lineup" on Fox News. The two have one child together.
Prior to dating Siebel, Newsom briefly dated "CSI: Miami" star Sofia Milos. Siebel, an aspiring Hollywood actress, graduated from Stanford University, where she also earned a graduate degree in business.
The couple met on a blind date at the Artists Ball at Yerba Buena Center in October 2006.
Newsom, one of San Francisco's most eligible bachelors, had Siebel by his side while he weathered the biggest scandal in his political career to date. Three months after they met, Newsom's campaign director, Alex Tourk, resigned after learning that the mayor had an affair with Tourk's wife, Ruby Rippey-Tourk, who worked as Newsom's appointments secretary.
Rippey-Tourk and Newsom both admitted the affair, with Newsom stating that he has a drinking problem which he sought rehabilitation for. The affair happened during Newsom's divorce with Guilfoyle, but before he met Siebel.
