Firefighters Battling Blaze at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital

Nearly 100 firefighters are currently trying to contain a blaze at one of the world’s leading cancer treatment centers, London’s Royal Marsden Hospital.

The fire broke out around 1:30 pm in London and the Fire Brigade has placed 15 fire engines at the scene. Patients inside the hospital have been evacuated and there have been no reports of casualties but the fire has severely damaged portions of the building.

It is believed that the fire broke out near the top of the hospital in close proximity to the air conditioning system. Witnesses have said the roof has been severely damaged, with portions already caving in.
