Malaysian Health Minister Resigns after Sex Video Surfaces

Malaysian Health Minister Chua Soi Lek has resigned from his position after a sex tape surfaced that included the married man along with a female friend.

Wednesday’s decision to resign comes one day after Chua declared he would remain at his post despite allegations that the was involved in the infidelities. That declaration didn’t last long as the 61-year-old told reporters this morning, “I think that anyone who is a leader has to be responsible for his mistakes or weaknesses. I feel proud at least I dared to admit. I never said that it was not me. I never even said that it was doctored.”

Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi appeared relieved at Chua’s decision as he has already faced heavy criticism from opposition leaders who have openly criticized the ruling party for questionable morality among its members.

Chua, who has three children with his wife, apologized for his actions on Tuesday evening and claimed that he did not make the video but rather a member of an opposition party was responsible for the recording.
