Bill Bonanno Dies of Heart Attack at 75

Bill Bonanno died of a heart attack in Tucson on Tuesday at the age of 75.

A writer, a movie producer and a lecturer, Bonanno was the song of Joe Bonanno a notorious crime chieftain in New York City.  Joining the Mafia in his twenties, Bonanno used his experiences to write his book entitled “Bound by Honor: A Mafioso’s Story” in an attempt to demystify the Italian American influence on organized crime.

The Associated Press reports that the family is shocked about Bonanno’s death.  He left behind four children, 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Monday.
