Jay Leno will welcome former Arkansas governor and current Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee as a guest tonight when the funnyman returns to the air for the first time in two months since a writers strike brought the show to a halt.
Huckabee appeared oblivious to the fact the writers were still striking and that he would likely be facing a vocal crowd when he arrived on Wednesday to tape the show.
With a solid lead in the Iowa polls leading up to the state’s caucuses on Thursday, Huckabee may have an opportunity to appeal to New Hampshire voters where he trails John McCain and Mitt Romney by large numbers.
Following the taping in Los Angeles, Huckabee will return to Iowa where he is schedule for three morning interviews and two appearances on Thursday.
