53 tourists have been rescued from the erupting Llaima Volcano in chile. Army troops used 12 vehicles to pick up the tourists and then went into the national park by a different route.
The entrance to the park has been closed due to the flooding caused by the melted snow and ice from the top of the volcano.
Llaima volcano stands at 3,215 meters and rests within the
150 tourists were evacuated yesterday when the volcano began to erupt. Chief Mario Acuna, regional park service, assures “there now is absolutely no on in the park.”
An alert was issued to nearby town Melipeuco, but residents wait in their homes until an evacuation is ordered.
