Tractor Trailer Loses Control on I70, Diesel Spilled on Road and Nearby Creek

KDKA, a Pittsburg news station, reports that Interstate 70 in Westmoreland County after an out of control tractor trailer ended up dangling from an overpass.

Assistant Fire Chief Chris Friece of Herminie Township has stated “the roads were icy and he [the driver] said that a vehicle in front of him started fishtailing and when he slammed on the breaks he just lost control."

Hazmat crews were called for clean up since 200 gallons of diesel were spilled in the accident.  The diesel leaked onto the road and into the Sewickley Creek it was hanging over.
