Mike Huckabee Goes Too Far Attacking Religious Beliefs

Breaking News: Latest polls suggest Huckabee and Obama will be the clear winners of Iowa.

As an ordained Southern Baptist Minister, Mike Huckabee should be a shining light of what we as mankind should and should not do. Though he has left the voting public in shock with his comments on fellow presidential candidate, Mitt Romney’s Religion of Mormonism. Huckabee was reported to say to Romney “Don’t Mormons Believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?” Romney was shaken and stated that Huckabee had essentially gone too far with this remark. Mike Huckabee has now offered an apology to Mitt Romney as he stated at this time that it was not a derogatory comment but a simple question based on curiosity that was taken out of context by the media.

The heated debates between Romney and Huckabee are continuously making their way into the headlines as the race for presidency speeds up with polls in New Hampshire and the Iowa Caucus 2008 polls. The strong support from a wide flow of female Christian voters has helped to push Huckabee at a 31.4% in Iowa and 10.4 in New Hampshire. Perhaps the pressure of competition has forced the former Arkansas governor to slip up on his own beliefs, as a Southern Baptist should know better than to judge another. National averages on usaelectionpolls.com and presidentelectionpolls.com show huckabee at 22 for CNN, 21 CBS and ABC 19. His state averages show North Carolina at 33, Iowa 31.4, South Carolina 25.1, Georgia at 23.0 and Illinois at 21. With a country built upon freedom of religion our presidential candidates should be more aware of what comes out of there mouths in order to remain in favor of the voters of this diverse nation.
