Atlanta, Ga. 1/4/2008 12:54:59 AM
With more than 60,000 additional flights logged than its closest competitor Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport claimed the title of Busiest in the Nation, a distinction the airport has won three straight years.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration the airport neared the one million mark with 994, 446 flights in 2007 while Chicago O’Hare International Airport logged 935,000 last year.
Atlanta has long claimed to be the world’s busiest airport and their 41.35 million passengers passing through the airport in 2006 validates that decree.
While Atlanta and Chicago consistently battle it out for the top spot, the number three airport, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, finished 2007 with 686,711 flights logged.
