As expected the St. Louis Rams selected Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford with the number one selection in the 2010 NFL Draft, opening the floodgates for the Big 12 which saw nine conference players selected in the first 24 picks.
Bradford was followed by Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh who went to the Detroit Lions and the Oklahoma saw Gerald McCoy go to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at number three and Trent Williams go to the Washington Redskins go at number four.
Tennessee Volunteers safety Eric Berry snapped the Big 12 streak when he was taken at number five by the Kansas City Chiefs but Oklahoma State offensive tackle Russell Okung had the Big 12 back on the board when he was taken number six by the Seattle Seahawks.
The 2010 NFL Draft had some surprises and there were a few real winners as the Buffalo Bills managed to scoop up running back C.J. Spiller with the number nine pick, a guy many are already touting as offensive rookie of the year. The Dallas Cowboys also managed to land a big time player, taking wide receiver Dez Bryant with the number 24 pick.
There was no getting around the surprise of the 2010 NFL Draft as Tim Tebow was taken with the number 25 pick by the Denver Broncos. Tebow went before Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen and Texas QB Colt McCoy, both who remain on the board heading into Friday.
