One is known as a “sobering station”. In this area of the treatment center, there is room for 18 people who are still under the influence or otherwise feeling the effects of the drugs or alcohol that was abused. Once it has been determined that a person’s condition has improved to the point that he can leave the “sobering station”, he will then move to the area that provides detoxification and crisis mental health services. 16 people can occupy this recovery area at any given time.
It sounds as though this new treatment center is going to be a tremendous asset to the City of Boise as well as Ada County. The facilities are designed to accommodate people in various stages of addiction recovery, including the earliest ones. Even if one is still not “up to par” physically, due to having recently used drugs or alcohol, he can still come to the Allumbaugh House, and begin the recovery process immediately.
It is hoped that those who need help with drug or alcohol addiction will take advantage of this newest facility, especially since it provides the opportunity to start addiction recovery sooner.
