John McCain Looking For Popularity Surge In New Hampshire

John McCain, slowly gaining ground in New Hampshire on current frontrunner Mitt Romney is viewing his appearance in Iowa as an indication of how well his message is being received. While Romney is focusing a lot of his attention in Iowa on resurgent Mike Huckabee, McCain is a secondary target in New Hampshire. All that will likely change if McCain's numbers continue to threaten Romney in the New England state's first national primary election.

McCain has been attacked on his stance on immigration issues as well as on income tax relief, a move that McCain claims was also expressed by Romney but because Romney was a governor at the time and had no vote on the tax issue, does not change the way he felt about the tax reductions at the time they occurred. According to poll results posted at usaelectionpolls.com, Romney is holding on to a slim lead in New Hampshire against McCain with national frontrunner Rudy Giuliani appearing to have no effect on the outcome in either state.

While Romney continues to hold onto first and second place in many state primary polls, his concern in Iowa and New Hampshire continues to prompt attacks in both areas against Huckabee and McCain. Following a change in campaign staff and an improvement in campaign funding, McCain has shown renewed life in the otherwise tight race for the Republican nomination.

McCain continues to hammer home his message about some of the mistakes that he says have been made by the current Republican administration and that the American government needs an experienced voice in the White House instead of a candidate with limited government experience.
