NHL Playoffs Schedule Saturday April 24: Sidney Crosby Has Pittsburgh Penguins on Brink of Second Round Ticket, Avalanche Fight to Stay Alive Against Sharks

The NHL playoffs can see two teams punch their ticket to the second round on Saturday night or it could see a pair of series extend to a seventh and deciding game.

Sidney Crosby has been sensational in leading the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 series lead over the Ottawa Senators. Pittsburgh has a shot at ending the series on home ice but dropped a triple overtime Game 5 to send the series north of the border. Ottawa is playing with some confidence and that could spell trouble for the Penguins in Game 6.

The San Jose Sharks entered the NHL playoffs as the number one seed in the Western Conference but quickly fell behind in their series with the Colorado Avalanche and had to battle back. San Jose has done just that and now head into Colorado with a 3-2 series lead and are gunning to end the affair on Saturday night.

A battle between the Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks has resulted in a 2-2- series with the venue shifting to the Windy City on Saturday. Nashville knows they can win in Chicago, having beaten the Blackhawks in the opener but they will be seeing a different team than the one they met in Game 1.
