Gary Zerola Rape Trial to Begin Tuesday

Gary Zerola appeared to be a good catch as he was named one of America’s “Most Eligible Bachelors” by People Magazine and tried out for hit reality show “The Bachelor.” He also spent his time working on behalf of foster children. He worked as a state prosecutor on child abuse cases and started a charity that raises money for buy clothing and toys for foster children.

Authorities say under all of that is a rapist whose victims number at least 3. Zerola preyed on younger women prosecutors say.

The 36-year-old is accused of attacking two 19-year-old Boston women in 2004 and 2006. He is accused of forcing an 18-year-old to take drugs and then raping her in a Miami hotel in October.

Zerola insists he did not rape the women. He is currently free on $100,000 bail. All three women tell similar accounts of their ordeal. Prosecutors say he met all of his victims in bars and when the women refused his sexual advances, he attacked them.

Zerola’s back to back trials begin on Tuesday in Boston.
