Philly Anchorwoman Alycia Lane Fired From KWY TV

Philly Anchorwoman Alycia Lane has been fired from KWY-TV. Lane was arrested this past December after slapping a female officer in New York.

The incident occurred after the cab Lane was riding in was pulled over. She began yelling at the officer calling her a “f***ing d**k” before slapping her.

This afternoon CBS 3 announced their decision to fire Lane citing media attention. “We have concluded that it would be impossible for Alycia to continue to report the news as she, herself, has become the focus of so many news stories,” said the CBS 3 president in a statement.

Lane’s attorney released a statement saying CBS decision is “unfair.”

“The termination is unfair because Alycia has never had an opportunity to defend against his charge, and tell her side of the story publicly, before KYW-TV has taken this unusual and unwarranted step to terminate her employment,” said Lane’s lawyer.
