Former Massachusetts governor, Mitt Romney has struggled with voters in the past over his religious background, but at the Wyoming GOP caucus it seems that only his resolution for change in America is what the voters see. Mitt Romney has placed his focus steadily on positive changes for our military, our economy and our families.
This focus and pledge is now showing evidence that today’s voters want the changes that Romney so eagerly offers. Republican polls currently show Mitt Romney leading at 44% as his competitors stand as follows: Huckabee 34%, Thompson 10%, McCain 5% and Paul at 3%. These are January polls from CNN. Polls on usaelectionpolls.com show Romney at 26%, McCain at 31%, Huckabee at 11%, Thompson at 1% and Paul at 9%. These are the results of the last New Hampshire caucus and as another caucus is only day’s away polls can easily swap to throw Romney back in the lead. With all of the controversy over Romney’s religion polls show that most of the American people know very little about Mormonism, but still view this as an unfavorable religion that certainly alters their voting opinion of a political candidate.
Religion has been a main talk throughout this election for many of the presidential candidates such as Barack Obama, Huckabee and Romney. Perhaps the American people should concern themselves with how these individuals will run this nation instead of their religious choice, former acting careers or divorce track record. After all aren’t we voting for our next president or is this a popularity contest? Only the polls and the news headlines will tell if Romney will make it to the White House this election.
