Huckabee May Take Poll Lead In New Hampshire Thanks To Religious Groupies

Mike Huckabee has shown that in past caucus in Iowa his main voter base is found with support from those with a strong religious background as evangelistic Christians. He surged ahead of Mitt Romney and other Republican candidates due to his religious support group, though currently he is behind in polls after his rival Mitt Romney gained a big win at the Wyoming GOP caucus.

Religion has played a large focus this election for many of the presidential candidates. Barack Obama was both chastised and cheered for his connection of church and state. Mitt Romney has struggled to gain favor from the American people due to his religious preference as a Mormon. Mike Huckabee, a former minister, has a lot of voter support from a crowd, which holds strong ties to his religious preference. It is hard to say if religion will be what really weighs candidate’s choices for president in 2008 though is certainly is in the mouths of so many voters at this time. Polls on usaelectionpolls.com show Huckabee at 14%, while Romney is at 25% and McCain took a leap according to ARG polls to a high 39%.

Polls at CNN shoe the Republican polls at a different range. Romney is shown in the lead at 44% while Huckabee is directly below at 34%. The polls differ as the Wyoming GOP percentages come in and as calculations concerning the outcome of the New Hampshire caucus are around the corner only days away. We can only watch the polls and the news headlines to see who will take the lead and who will fall from grace on the road to the White house this presidential election of 2008.
