Weezer Plans Release of Expanded Edition “Pinkerton” Album

Following Weezer’s contract expiration with Geffen Records, they are planning several ideas for the group’s future. On June 12, 2010, Weezer is set to play at the Bonnaroo Music Festival.

Unexpectedly Weezer is planning to release a deluxe edition of their 1996 album “Pinkerton.” This comes as quite a surprise to me, seeing “Pinkerton” is my favorite album.

“Pinkerton” is one of my top 5 favorite albums of all time. I also believe this album to be the last “great” Weezer album. I feel that their latest releases are very poppy and mainstream, not following the true artistry the band once showed.

I really hope that Weezer continues on this path and stays true to themselves and the music they once made.

I am extremely excited that Weezer is going back and paying tribute to possibly the most overlooked album in history, “Pinkerton.”
