Tata Nano Unveiled in New Delhi Under Strict Security

The Rs 1 lakh car is on display held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.  The Times of India reports the car is “being treated like a VVIP, with a Z-plus security keeping a fierce watch on it.”  Shamser Sing Pehelwan has also been recruited as a bodyguard to thwart off any potential troublemakers.

Tata Motors has made sure that the security is that the highest for the unveiling of the new car.  The cars were brought to New Delhi in a high security container Wednesday night.  Of course the automobile was accompanied by guards.

The Rs 1 lakh is half the price of Tata motors’ competitors at about $2500, the Tata Nano is said to start a transportation revolution in India.  Yet despite the hype surrounding the introduction of the new Tata, many fear that the car will only worsen India’s dependence on oil as it is not environmentally friendly.
