Cecilia Sarkozy, Former First Lady of France, Tries to Ban Book About Her Life

Cecilia Sarkozy was denied her request to ban a new book entitled Cecilia by Anna Bitton.  The book is one of three that details the life of the former first lady of France and is set to release this week.  Passages from the book have already been published in various French magazines and newspapers.

Bitton quotes Sarkozy calling her ex husband and president, Nicolas Sarkozy, a "womanizer" a "cheap" and "a man who loves no one, not even his children."  She even describes the president's friends as "a gang of young guys drunk on power who take themselves for the princes of Paris."

Paris civil court has dismissed the case saying a ban would be "totally disproportionate."

Cecilia and Nicolas Sarkozy divorced in October 2007.  Nicolas has since then been dating Carla Bruni, an Italian singer and ex-supermodel.  Together they have been front-page news world wide.  The relationship is serious, but there is no word of marriage yet.
