Jeff Stewart of the ITV drama, The Bill, says he is recovering from his injuries.
The 52 year old actor, who had been
on The Bill since its beginning in 1984, allegedly tried to slit his wrists
when the producers decided to cut his contract Tuesday. The Bill spokeswoman would not confirm the
details of event, but did say that there was, in fact, an “incident.”
Stewart states, “I want to reassure
and thank everyone for all their support and good wishes... The last few days have been very difficult
for me, but I am receiving the right care and help, and ams urrounded by family
and friends.”
