Mitt Romney Covering Michigan With Campaign Dollars

As the Republican primaries begin to get more heated, strategies are going to be an important factor in who eventually wins the party's presidential nomination. Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts Governor has realigned some of his advertising budget, pulling money from South Carolina and shifting it to Michigan, hoping to hold onto his thin lead for the state's primary in January 15.

He currently leads the most recent polls, according to numbers posted at usaelectionpolls.com with 21 percent of the expected Republican voters saying they support him. Mike Huckabee, who snuck up on him in the days prior to the Iowa caucus and beat him there, is currently in second in the polls with 19 percent. Rudy Giuliani is third with 12 percent and the winner of the New Hampshire Republican primary John McCain is next at 10 percent.

Democrats are staying out of Michigan since it moved its primary to January 15, against the wishes of the state party and they lost 156 delegates. Four days after the Michigan primary, the Republicans will be involved in the South Carolina caucus while the Democrats in South Carolina will caucus on January 26.

Nevada could be a key state for Romney as Huckabee and McCain are both showing a loss of favoritism there, but Giuliani has a strong showing there with 25 percent favor according to the state poll results at usaelectionpolls.com and Romney in second with 20 percent. However, there is some doubt about the viability of his candidacy if Romney were to fail to win in either Michigan and South Carolina.
