MLB Schedule Thursday April 29: Cardinals Looking for Four-Game Sweep of Braves, Tampa Bay Rays Going for Fifth Straight Win
The MLB schedule for Thursday includes four day games with the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins getting things started at 1:05 p.m. ET. Detroit will be sending Dontrelle Willis to the hill after a tough last start in which he completed just one inning and walked three but allowed only two runs. The Twins will be countering with Carl Pavano who has put together a 3-1 campaign thus far and is coming off a solid performance against the Kansas City Royals in which he allowed two runs over seven innings.
St. Louis will be looking for a four-game sweep of the slumping Atlanta Braves on Thursday. The Cardinals have won four straight and have a comfortable lead in the NL Central while the Braves continue to sit in the cellar of the NL East.
The Los Angeles Dodgers understand the woes of the Braves as they too are in the cellar of the NL West. LA will be hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday hoping to end a four game slide while the Bucs have picked up two in a row and would like to keep their streak moving forward.
In the AL East the Tampa Bay Rays are clearly showing they have no plans of falling apart, posting an impressive 9-1 record on the road while holding the best record in MLB. The Ray will be hosting the Royals on Thursday and looking for a fifth straight win while KC is hoping to end a two game skid.
