Calgon Carbon Corporation (NYSE:CCC) announced a $3 million dollar increase in Net Income from the previous period a year prior for the first quarter.
The company reported a net income of $9.0 million for the first quarter of 2010, compared to net income that was made the previous year of $6.0 million. On a fully diluted share basis, earnings per common share for the first quarter of 2010 were $0.16 versus $0.11 for the first quarter of 2009.
Net sales for the first quarter of 2010 were $102.9 million, a 13.6% increase over net sales of $90.6 million for the first quarter of 2009. Currency translation had a $2.2-million positive impact on sales for the first quarter of 2010 due to the weaker dollar.
