Graco Crib Recall Announced Due to Suffocation Risk

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall for about 217,000 Graco cribs due to faulty hardware that can cause the drop side of the crib to detach, creating a gap that poses the risk of entrapment and suffocation to infants.

The recall includes wooden cribs made by LaJobi and branded with the Graco label. They were sold in stores nationwide beginning in February 2007.

“We have moved swiftly and decisively, in full cooperation with the CPSC, to take this precautionary action and recall these cribs and deliver to owners a workable, easy and permanent solution," LaJobi said in a statement.

Consumers are advised to stop using the cribs immediately and call LaJobi at (887) 842-2215 for a free hardware kit.
