Attack on Serena Hotel in Kabul leaves 6 dead

According to reports, militants wearing suicide vests and carrying grenades and AK-47 rifles targeted the hotel’s spa and gym area around 6:12 pm. More than 30 United States soldiers were at the scene as well as over six humvees.

Six people were left dead and six others were wounded. It appeared to be the first direct assault on a hotel in Kabul since the fall of the Taliban in 2001.
