Sophie Soto and Julio Rojas Lure Teens from MySpace for Sex
22 year old Sophie Soto and 31 year old Julio Rojas were arraigned Saturday at Queens Criminal court. They received 56 counts including statutory rape and sexual abuse on two girls younger than 15 years old.
The Corona couple, who were both strippers, found the girls online through the social networking site, MySpace and lured them to their apartment on 46-20 104th street in Queens. While there the girls were given alcohol and were coerced into sexual acts, including a trip to a Manhattan club where the girls were made to do a striptease and perform oral sex with patrons at the club.
Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said “The defendants are accuse of using the Internet to lure two obviously troubled young girls to their apartment where they were plied with liquor before being used to satisfy the defendants’ own illicit carnal cravings…The consequences of the alleged sexual assaults for the victims are profound and can well result in emotional trauma from which they may never recover.”
Rojas is being held on a $500,000 bail and Soto on $250,000. The two are due in court January 28.
