“Latin America is quickly growing as a preferred outsourcing location for US-based companies,” says Trowbridge. “In addition to favorable time zones, many companies also have Spanish language requirements. Flights to these cities are also significantly less in both time and cost than going outside the Americas.”
In October, Alsbridge research released its report on emerging outsourcing cities in Latin America. After the major centers of Sao Paolo, Santiago and Buenos Aires, Alsbridge research has identified ten up-and-coming locations among the areas being evaluated. The cities emerging as hot spots in Latin America are San Jose (Costa Rica), Managua (Nicaragua) Monterrey (Mexico), Panama City (Panama) Bogotá (Colombia), Montevideo (Uruguay), Guatemala City (Guatemala), Brasília (Brazil), Juarez (Mexico) and Curitiba (Brazil).
The criteria for selecting the cities was based on several factors including population, accessibility, education of the workforce and success of existing companies that have businesses in these cities.
