Former Congressman Mark Deli Siljander Charged in Terror Conspiracy

Former Michigan Congressman Mark Deli Siljander has been charged in a terror conspiracy case. The Republican was apart of a terrorist fundraising ring that sent funds to an al-Qaida and Taliban support who has threatened the United States.

Authorities believe Siljander was paid $50,000 for lying about lobbying for an Islamic charity that was secretly supporting terrorists. He was charged with money laundering conspiracy and obstruction of justice among others.

 

Siljander served two terms in the House of Representatives and was appointed a United States delegate to the United Nations in 1987.
