Arrests Made in Atlanta Police Killings

Atlanta police have apprehended a second suspect wanted in the Wednesday morning shootings that killed two off-duty police officers.

On Wednesday night Herbie Deshawn Durham was picked up by officers and charged with two counts of murder. By Thursday morning a second suspect, Deanthius Jamal Johnson, had turned himself in.

DeKalb County Police Chief Terrell Bolton had announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for killing officers Ricky Bryant Jr. 26, and Eric Barker, 33. That reward was boosted to $60,000 on Thursday as it is believed there were more than two people involved.

On Thursday Bolton sent a warning to those involved in the murders, “For those out there that are still remaining, yeah, we're coming after you too. Your time on the street is not long and we're going to bring you into justice.”
