Who is republican candidate Ron Paul and where is he from? He spent a while in the eighties and nineties as a U.S. congressman representing Texas and recently decided that he would like to run for president. However, a part of Paul’s possible past has been unearthed again and may come back to haunt him. Although it is not yet known who in fact wrote these letters, they are alleged to be from Paul. The letters under question are of a racist manner and paint the author as a prejudice Neanderthal. In fact, one speaks of the riots in 1992 Los Angeles and cites that the order in the city was reborn only when “blacks went to pick up their welfare checks.”
This could be damaging to him, even if it turns out that he’s not the author. Michigan’s primary is next in line and to be held on January 15th – Michigan is a democratic majority state, and will look down on these racial allegations towards Paul. What should he do to negate these nasty claims?
Focus on topics that will rebuke them such as minority protection from strict drug laws. Could his opponents have rehashed these old topics just because he’s gaining support of the minority? Of course, but one would think that would should their weaknesses and lack of confidence in their own campaigns, and that is what voters rely on most – the ability to sell yourself to the public. Paul should recover as long as there’s no valid proof that he actually wrote the damaging letters.
