Mike Huckabee Banks On Further Evangelical Support To Win Next Debate

Republican candidate Mike Huckabee walked away from Iowa with a victory due to a large evangelical voter fan base. As candidates move on to debates in Michigan, Huckabee holds high hopes for a similar turn out. Huckabee has not spent any time or money featuring advertising campaigns in Michigan while his competitor Mitt Romney has spent a whopping Three million dollars running campaign ads over time in Michigan. Romney has admitted openly that he believes that he will be victorious in Michigan. His stands on the economy and focus on the devastating job loss there are sure to assist his campaign. Mike Huckabee however does not seem to be quite as prepared for this hot topic. By looking at statistics it is hard for candidates to know exactly which issues they should focus on.

Recent polls show the issues that America is interested in, in the following order: War in Iraq is on top at 21%, the economy at 17%, immigration at 11%, taxes at 10% and healthcare at the bottom at 8%. Due to these numbers perhaps this is why Huckabee is banking on his usual support and leaving concerns over Michigan’s economy on the back burner. As the road to the White House narrows as candidates drop out, such as Bill Richardson, and candidates such as John McCain pull out surprising victories its nearly impossible to know who will win this election. Even the most experienced personnel in these campaigns are putting their hands up in the air over political predictions. Mike Huckabee can only hope that his supporters in Michigan will bring him a win as his supporters from previous debates.
