Toddler Thrown From Overpass into Traffic, 23-Year-Old Man Arrested

A 2 ½ year-old boy was pronounced dead after being thrown from a pedestrian overpass and into oncoming traffic in Honolulu, Hawaii Thursday by a 23-year-old man.

The man was spotted by witnesses who said they saw him throw something over the 30-foot-high bridge and onto the H-1 freeway below. Police have not said whether the young boy was killed by one of the cars that struck him or if he was already dead.

It was not known if the man, who was wearing hospital attire at the time, was related to the boy. Authorities were still trying to determine where the young boy was from.
