The Weather Project to Display in New York

The Weather Project by artist Olafur Eliasson will be New York City’s next big art project follow The Gates by Christo and Jeanne-Claude.

The project will consist of a series of freestanding waterfalls in the East River.  The waterfalls will rise about 60 -70 feet above the water and can be seen from the Seaport, Brooklyn Heights and the Governors Island Ferry.

The Weather Project attracted two million people at the Tate Modern in 2003 and 2004.
